Former DEEP PURPLE Bassist's Tribute Shows Cancelled
September 28, 2008According to a posting on the Deep Purple Appreciation Society web site, former PURPLE bassist Nick Simper's previously announced tribute shows to DEEP PURPLE's original lineup — which were supposed to be held in Austria and Germany during November with the Austrian rock band NASTY HABITS — have been cancelled. NASTY HABITS drummer Peter Brkusic states that Nick has "very serious reasons" for the cancellations and hopes that the shows can be rescheduled for the spring of 2009.
DEEP PURPLE's original lineup featured Simper alongside Ritchie Blackmore (guitar),Jon Lord (keyboards),Rod Evans (lead vocals),and Ian Paice (drums).
